Copyright and Derived Code Notices for glmbayesCore

The original glmbayesCore package code, documentation, examples, and vignettes
are copyright Kjell Nygren, except where otherwise noted below.

R Mathlib and R Source Code
---------------------------

CPU-side C++ code calls R’s libR Mathlib at link time (no vendored CPU nmath
sources). The package ships OpenCL ports or adaptations of selected R Mathlib
and related routines under inst/cl/ (for example inst/cl/nmath/, inst/cl/dpq/,
and inst/cl/rmath/). These files retain the original copyright and license
notices where present.

Relevant copyright holders and contributors include The R Core Team, The R
Foundation, Ross Ihaka, Robert Gentleman, Morten Welinder, and Martin Maechler.
The applicable licenses are GPL-2-or-later and/or LGPL-2.1-or-later as
indicated in the individual source file headers.

OpenCL API Headers
------------------

The bundled OpenCL API headers inst/include/CL/cl.h and
inst/include/CL/cl_platform.h are Copyright (c) 2008-2020 The Khronos Group
Inc. and are licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The original
copyright and license notices are preserved in the file headers.

R stats Modeling Conventions
----------------------------

Portions of the R-level prior-setup and matrix-input modelling helpers follow
classical stats::lm()/stats::glm() conventions (model matrices, family objects,
and related fitted-object patterns). They are not a reimplementation of the
end-user formula interfaces glmb()/lmb(), which live in the glmbayes package.

Relevant contributors/copyright holders for the underlying R modelling
infrastructure include The R Core Team, The R Foundation, Ross Ihaka, and
Simon Davies. The R implementation of glm() was originally written by Simon
Davies under Ross Ihaka and has since been extensively maintained by the R
Core Team.

Mixed-Model Design Code (Provenance)
------------------------------------

R files implementing mixed-model design extraction (for example
R/lme4_design_utilities.R and R/mer_design_support.R) were migrated from
the lmebayesCore package (forked from glmbayesCore, 2026-07) and are
copyright Kjell Nygren under the same GPL-2 license as glmbayesCore. They
call third-party APIs but do not vendor lme4, Matrix, reformulas, or glmmTMB
source code.

lme4, Matrix, and reformulas (API Dependencies)
-----------------------------------------------

Design extraction uses the public APIs of the lme4 package (for example
lFormula, lmer, glmer, VarCorr, mkLmerDevfun), the Matrix package for sparse
model matrices, and the reformulas package (for example findbars and nobars).
No source code from those packages is included in glmbayesCore; authorship
and copyright for those packages are defined in their respective DESCRIPTION
files and licenses.

glmmTMB (API Dependency)
--------------------------

When dispformula requests per-group observation dispersion, model_setup()
fits a reference model via the glmmTMB package API (glmmTMB(), fixef(),
vcov(), etc.). No glmmTMB source code is bundled in glmbayesCore.

Package Dependencies
--------------------

The package links to or imports external R packages including Rcpp,
RcppArmadillo, RcppParallel, MASS, Rdpack, opencltools, nmathopencl, lme4,
Matrix, reformulas, and glmmTMB. These packages are not bundled in glmbayesCore; their
authorship and copyright are governed by their own package metadata and
licenses. Additional OpenCL Mathlib sources used at runtime may come from the
imported nmathopencl package.
